CONSULTATION
The truly best part of having a piece of furniture commissioned is the excitement of seeing the entire process from start to finish, and being able to come along for the ride. The journey starts firstly by contacting us with your ideas, measurements, and any photos you may have of something close to what your looking for. Showing a photo and commenting something “like this, but with this here” or “I like this but not in this colour or not with this moulding” is encouraged and an excellent way to get a good idea if exactly what your vision is.
2. DESIGN
Once we have the initial back and forth out of the way, and we have an idea of what your thinking, the next step is to hammer down the design a little further. Believe it or not design takes quite a while, so at this step we get a rough idea of what we will do and how it will look and what the costs involved will be. If possible or needed; this is the time Travis will make a site visit to take some serious measurements and determine any and all problems we may run into. After this step Travis can draft a deposit invoice, and we can agree to the final design. Once the deposit has been received the project will start on the agreed upon schedule. A final invoice minus deposit will be drafted and given upon completion and delivery of your piece.
3. BUILD
Selecting lumber, acclimation, tweaking measurements and design, working out joinery, these are all the things that go into heirloom quality furniture. When you buy something mass produced, you simply get what you get. Buying Redhead Woods furniture means buying quality, and quality takes time. Every component is carefully thought out, as to use the most attractive board for the job. Whether the look calls for straight grain, wild figure, or book matching, each board is hand selected. Travis will use the proper joinery for the task at hand in every piece to ensure it lasts for generations to come. All of this craftsmanship takes time, and at Redhead Woods we believe that quality shouldn't be rushed. Though some times the process can be lengthy, we assure you that every piece is well worth your patience. during the build we will send photos back and forth to let you in on the process, and take you along every step of the way, let the fun begin.
4. DELIVERY AND ENJOY
Once your piece is finished and dry, its ready for delivery and install day! If install is needed a second invoice will be worked up after the installation is complete determined by the hourly time taken to complete the work, unless installation was included in the initial quote price. For most larger pieces and for every job costing over 1500.00 free delivery is included within 100km. For circumstances other than these, pricing and execution will be worked out before hand. Once the piece is in your home there is nothing left to do but enjoy. beautiful furniture should make you feel something every time you look at it, and hopefully that feeling lasts for the lifetime of the piece.
